Description
Suitable for dry and sensitive skin types, this silky balm is enriched with our unique ceramide blend to help restore and replenish the skin’s protective barrier function, as well soothing as squalane, bisabolol and prebiotics. The 2-in-1 formula gently cleanses skin while removing makeup, without leaving any unwanted heavy residue, and comes with a premium 100% cotton muslin cloth to help remove the balm from skin.
This is not your average cleansing balm. A rich, luxurious texture, combined with skin-comforting ingredients creates a cleansing experience comparable to much more expensive formulas.
What's in the formula?
Our formula is unique because unlike cheaper cleansing balms – and like more expensive options – it contains pseudoceramides, which are synthetic ceramides that are more stable, planet-friendly and able to hydrate skin as well as able to better mimic the composition of natural lipids and the skin’s natural structure compared to plant-derived ceramides. The range also contains other skin-boosting active ingredients like niacinamide, to help even skin tone, and glycerin, a humectant that helps skin retain moisture.
Fragrance Free | Sensitive Skin Friendly | Vegan | Cruelty Free
How it works
SK-Influx® V MB ceramide blend with AP, NP and EOP: Restores the protective barrier function of the skin and has been shown to significantly decrease TEWL (transepidermal water loss), improving the stratum corneum (top layer of skin) barrier repair.
Squalane: Helps to prevent moisture loss for a healthy and hydrated appearance.
Niacinamide: A form of a form of vitamin B3 with humectant properties that helps protect the skin barrier by supporting the skin’s production of ceramides, as well as drawing in water and locking it in place.
Biolin: A cosmetic prebiotic sugar that supports the microbial protective flora of the skin. With biolin, skin microbiota recovers faster and harmful organisms are reduced.
Vegan, cruelty free and fragrance free.
Cloth
We worked with UK-based textile supplier, with sustainability at its core, to create a premium 100% cotton muslin cloth. Their products are primarily made from natural fibres such as cotton which are renewable and can biodegrade within 6 months.
How to use
Step 1 of your routine – cleanse. The Ceramide Fix Cleansing Balm is the perfect first step in a double cleanse routine, we recommend following with one of our exfoliating pads, depending on your skin concern.
If your skin is younger, but irritated or damaged by over exfoliation, we recommend following your double cleanse with the Ceramide Fix Serum 12%.
If your skin is more mature and suffering from fine lines, wrinkles or sagging then follow yout double cleanse with the Hyaluronic Fix Extreme4 Serum 2%, finishing with the Ceramide Fix Overnight Repair Cream 12%.
Gently massage balm onto a dry face and neck, with or without make up, as the first step in your routine, morning or evening.
Dampen the muslin cloth with warm water and buff face to remove the balm, makeup and impurities. Splash water onto the face to remove any residual product.
Tips
Our Ceramide Fix range is ideal for pairing with our hydrating Hyaluronic Fix Extreme4 range. They both help skin to retain moisture – Ceramide Fix by repairing the skin barrier so that it’s able to retain moisture again, and Hyaluronic Fix Extreme4 to add moisture back into skin and to lock it in.
Ceramides also help to improve skin’s tolerance of active ingredients, such as glycolic and salicylic acids by protecting the skin barrier – use Ceramide Fix Cleansing Balm as the first step in an acid-based routine if your skin is sensitive or dry to keep it soothed and protected.

The Science
Ceramides are lipids (oils) found naturally in the skin and are
essential in supporting its protective barrier and retaining moisture. They are the building blocks of skin, comprising over 50% of its composition and play an important role in protecting it against external aggressors like UVA rays and environmental damage, as well as keeping it youthful and supple.
When your ceramide levels are low, the skin barrier is weakened. This happens with age, but also happens if skin has been over-exfoliated or overexposed to sun, for example. Moisture starts to escape (known as transepidermal water loss, or TEWL), which leads to a damaged skin barrier, causing dry, flaky skin, redness, irritation and dehydration.
Why you need it
When your skin barrier is damaged, you need to replenish your ceramide levels to help repair your skin barrier. Applying ceramides directly to skin does exactly that, and they also help to improve skin’s tolerance of active ingredients, such as glycolic and salicylic acids, by protecting the skin barrier. You'll experience all these benefits:
- Rebalance the skin's natural biome
- Even out skin tone
- Retain moisture
- Reduce redness & irritation
Key ingredients
-
Ceramides
Lipids (oils) found naturally in the skin that are essential in supporting the skin’s protective barrier, helping it retain moisture and protecting it against environmental damage, as well as keeping it youthful and supple.
-
Squalane
Excellent at soothing and alleviating irritation, this lightweight oil helps to prevent moisture loss for a healthy and hydrated appearance.
-
Prebiotic Biolin
A prebiotic sugar that supports the microbial protective flora of the skin. Helps skin microbiota to recover faster and harmful organisms are reduced.
How do I know if my barrier is damaged?
If your skin barrier is damaged, you’ll experience transepidermal water loss (TEWL), which means your barrier is unable to retain moisture. As a result, you’ll experience any or all of the following:
- Redness
- Itchiness
- Dehydration or dullness
- Hyperpigmentation (due to the skin being vulnerable to UV rays)
